OCTOBER 21, 2021

We are excited to announce that on October 21st, we  awarded our first grant to the Jerome Township Fire Dept so they may purchase the lifesaving Lucas Device.

Thank you to the Midland Daily News for their recent write up, “Thanks to medical foundation, Sanford slated to get needed heart device” outlining the benefits of the Lucas device and how it will be able to help them save so many lives.

See the link above for the full article. We have included a few quotes from it below:

“For the past few years, we’ve been hoping to purchase a Lucas Device, which is a mechanical chest compression system,” (Lt. Marc )Thrush said. “This device assists in providing high quality chest compressions, which are essential to modern 'lifesaving CPR.' Unfortunately, due to current budget constraints, along with the recent flooding from the dam failures, we do not have the funding available to make this purchase.”

Until now, when they receive the funds from on Oct. 23. The department will be one of the first, if not the first, to receive a grant from the Physicians Association of Mid-Michigan Community Medical Foundation.
